Welcome. My name is Gail Buhler and I have been a professional photographer for over 15 years. From weddings, families, and senior portraits, capturing precious moments with my camera became my passion. About fourteen years ago, my husband was diagnosed with progressive Multiple Sclerosis, leaving him a quadriplegic. Recently, my mother in law passed away from ALS and a family friend was diagnosed with the same disease. Holding my camera became more than a passion of mine, it became close to my heart. Photography gives me context and language to the feelings of those whose loved ones have been diagnosed with terminal illness or disabling disease. In this way, the photography services we offer are therapeutic and inspiring.  

Many family members find our photography service to be valuable and cherished mementos of the precious and meaningful time they got to spend with their loved ones.  In this way, our professional photography services act as a gentle reminder of those fond memories.

I consider it a privilege for us to empower families with our photography services.

Close To My Heart Photography is a nonprofit organization that is on a mission to capture the special moments and create memories through the lens of a camera that people will never forget.  I bring a highly attuned sensitivity, based on personal experience to each photography session we give.
